Our Owner
Rachel began her musical journey at the age of 5, taking formal piano lessons before picking up the violin in 4th grade. However, after her family relocated to a rural area in the Pacific Northwest, she faced limited access to musical resources, which put her musical development on pause for several years.

In 2016, Rachel reignited her passion for music, enrolling in the Music Program at Lane Community College. Three years later, she founded Music Lessons Eugene with a mission to make music education more accessible. Inspired by her own challenges in accessing music, Rachel developed a unique business model: providing in-home lessons to remove barriers like time and travel for families. Her team now serves students throughout Eugene and travels up to 50 miles outside the city to reach rural areas where musical resources are harder to come by.
In 2022, Rachel expanded her vision by founding the Music Education Collective, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering an inclusive musical environment. The MEC aims to support low-income and at-risk youth, as well as other underserved members of the community, by offering them opportunities to experience the transformative power of music. In 2023, the MEC successfully raised funds to offer scholarships for students in need and launched a summer music camp, providing even more opportunities for young musicians to grow and thrive. These initiatives further our mission of making music education accessible to all.

Rachel’s impact hasn’t gone unnoticed. In 2023, she was named 1st runner-up for 'Best Educator' in the Eugene Weekly publication's annual "Best of Eugene" poll, a testament to her commitment to both her students and her community.

With growing administrative responsibilities, Rachel now has limited availability and may not be accepting new students at this time.
